Water is one of our most precious resources. In times of drought, communities are often forced to take drastic actions to conserve enough water just for fresh drinking supplies. Even under normal conditions, 40 out of 50 states expect water shortages.
The average American family uses 320 gallons of water a day. Of those, at least 96 are devoted to outdoor use. In some dry summer areas, outdoor water use accounts for much higher percentage than that. And in many areas, the majority of outdoor water use goes to maintain lawns. More striking, as much as 50% of the water used outdoors is lost due to wind, evaporation, over-watering and inefficient irrigation systems.

It’s no wonder then that communities have targeted outdoor watering, especially on lawns, as one of the best places to conserve water, promoting low-water use landscaping, more efficient sprinklers and irrigation systems, restricted watering days and less wasteful watering practices.
BioAdvanced® is also doing its part to help communities and their residents conserve water. Introducing BioAdvanced® Lawn Root Moisturizer, a proprietary blend of humectants and hygroscopic compounds that, when applied to lawns, can cut water use by up to 50% while maintaining great-looking turf. For the average household that can amount to saving 14,000 gallons a year, which is significant conservation and meaningful reductions in home water bills.
Major University studies herald the benefits of BioAdvanced® Lawn Root Moisturizer as a proven formulation that draws water vapor from the soil and attaches the moisture to grass root hairs, sealing it to the roots and increasing their water-holding capacity while reducing evaporation. Our root zone moisture management technology makes it easier and less expensive to sustain a greener lawn better protected from heat and drought. By managing soil moisture between watering cycles and/or rainfall, BioAdvanced® Lawn Root Moisturizer keeps your lawn lush and greener longer, while untreated lawns become dry and brown.
How To Use Lawn Root Moisturizer**
BioAdvanced® Lawn Root Moisturizer is available in a 32-ounce ready-to-spray bottle, which treats up to 5,000 square feet of lawn. It can be used on all turf types and one application lasts up to 3 months. It is ideal for thin turf and may improve establishment of newly sodded or seeded lawns.
After applying, water into the soil with ¼ to ½ of water within 1 to 2 hours after spraying. You can then begin to gradually stretch the intervals between irrigations of established lawns, making adjustments if the lawn shows signs of moisture stress. Each irrigation should wet the root zone to a depth of 6 to 8 inches. For more information on how to water your lawn, go to Summer Lawn Watering Guide: Steps to a Great Lawn.
